Simon Yoon purchased the Corner Stop Deli located in Murray Hill in 2004 from its former Korean owner. Murray Hill’s multicultural community acted as a safe haven for him to raise his two daughters with his wife, shielding them from racism and discrimination felt in other neighborhoods. Mr. Yoon’s dream is to one day retire and return to Korea and help children orphaned by their parents.

But for now his deli acts as his medium to convey his compassion to his customers in the neighborhood, who dub his deli as the place to go for ice coffee, sandwiches, and Arizona Ice Tea.

Currently Corner Stop Deli is one of just a handful of Korean delis left in Flushing.
